Creating Channel objects

Trust Protection Platform is designed so you can create multiple channel objects for any given channel driver. This means you can create different channel configurations for different functions or events. For instance, you can configure the Venafi Log server to use one MS SQL Channel object as the Default SQL Channel and another MS SQL Channel as a specialized log store for specific types of events.

You can also define multiple SMTP Channel objects to send notifications to different recipients such as the contact for each application that consumes a given certificate, the certificate contact, the system administrator, and a certificate approver. Every SMTP channel object supports both plain text and HTML messages.

NOTE  To view examples of channel object configurations, review the default channel objects that are provided in the Channels folder. You can use the default channels or reference their configurations as a guide to help you create your own channel objects. For a listing of the default channel objects, see SMTP channel templates.
