SMTP channel
The SMTP channel allows the Venafi Log server to route notifications through an SMTP server. The SMTP channel can send events, such as a certificate expiration, to a system administrator’s mailbox, cell phone, or other SMTP-enabled device.
To send notifications using an SMTP channel, administrators can do either of the following:
- Use the default SMTP channel templates. These templates have notification rules associated with them. For example, you can use Email to Consumer, Email to Owner, Email to Parent, Email to System Administrator, and Email to Ticket Approver. For more information on SMTP channel configurations, see SMTP channel templates.
- Configure a Notification object and select an addressable SMTP Channel object as one of its Notification Channels. For more information on configuring Notification objects, see Managing notification rules.
