Managing notification rules
Venafi Trust Protection Platform™ Notification objects store the criteria the Venafi Log server uses to select system events. Notification objects also designate the Channel objects that Log server uses to provide event responses.
Trust Protection Platform provides two kinds of event notification:
- Notification Rules
- Heartbeat Triggers
Notification Rules tell you when a specific event occurred. Conversely, Heartbeat Triggers tells you when an event has not occurred.
IMPORTANT Your Default SQL Channel log store receives all events. Notifications are required only if you want to send specific events to a channel other than your Default SQL Channel. Do not send notifications to your Default SQL Channel because this results in duplicate logged events.
